DAQ-MONOLITH Version Comparison

This table compares the results of Monolith V1 to Monolith V2 run on hit files from pole. The InIce V1 and InIce V2 columns contain the number of events found using the default Inice LocalCoincidence configuration. Likewise, the IceTop V1 and IceTop V2 columns contain the number of events found using the default Icetop LocalCoincidence configuration. The InIce-IceTop V2 column lists the number of events found with the new simultaneous triggering, again with the LocalCoincidence configuration.

The last column indicates the result of comparing separately the InIce configuration and the IceTop configuration, between V1 and V2. A PASS means the numbers are identical. An OK means they are close. A FAIL means the comparison either can't be made or is very different (a job failed).

So far all of the runs that are OK or FAIL can be traced to known timing problems associated with the GPS synchronization. The handling of the corrupt times was modified to deal with large skips into the future as well as skips into the past (or even negative times). Usually these timing errors simply cause some fraction of the data stream to be ignored by the trigger. Occasionaly, especially if it occurs at the begining of a run, the errors can influence the trigger behavior and cause Null Pointer exceptions. Every instance of an OK or FAIL so far observered match to these conditions.
