Your buyer locates vendors for all the parts on the Bill of Materials.
Your buyer procures all the parts, warehouses them, and marks them
to correspond to the items in the BOM (make up the kit).
Your favorite PCB manufacturer produces the printed circuit boards
from the Gerber files we supply. (include bare board testing).
You provide the PCBs and the kit of parts to your favorite pick-and-place
contractor who will mount all the parts. (include testing)
One stop shopping:
Work with a contractor who will accept the WHOLE project for one contract
price. The contractor will have the boards fabricated, and will at
the same time procure all the components to be mounted on the board, and
program the machines to mount them based on component placement files generated
by the PCB layout program. Then when the boards and the parts are
all in house, mount all the parts on the boards, test for shorts, and deliver
completed boards into your hands.
Requirements:
PCB Gerber files (artwork for all the layers, and part placement files
from layout program)
