Elements of Fabrication of the hardware system for the String 18 DAQ based on test-boards.

Schematic redesign (GPT - LBNL)

Replace obsolete ADC with different (better) product with identical interface
Better protection from transient of vulnerable DAC
Integrated power enable/disable
Revise clock distribution scheme (stand-alone for test, distributed for operation)
Provide properly for clock synchronization support (1pps input)
(perhaps) add the PC-104+ connector for access to additional interrupt lines of the CPU
Use limiting amplifiers where prudent to avoid clipping and recovery problems

Revise printed circuit board layout (GTP - LBNL)

Lay out the changes listed above
Relocate some components to allow more convenient stacking
Relocate the RS-232 (RJ-45) connector for access through front panel
Relocate some subcircuits to reduce the inducement of digital noise into analog input

PCB bill of materials ( ? + a jump start from GTP)  (see also fabrication options)

I will provide an initial bill of materials all most immediately to whoever will do procurement.

PCB parts procurement (?)

The BOM will have to be broken into bid lists for the various vendors.
Order parts
Collect and label parts as items in the bill of materials

Parts Placement

Arrange for a vendor to mount the components on the PCBs

PCB testing

Test plan for individual test boards
power supplies work
PLD loads with JTAG
FPGA loads with JTAG
telemetry ADCs work.  control DACs work.
High speed ADC works, High speed DAC works
FPGA load from CPU works
Documentation of test results.  Board tracking.
