The width of the detected leading signal increases to a value greater than the width encoded by the DOM (720 ns).  The width of the trailing pulse increases even more.  These width ratios do not, however, diminish the capacity of the receiver logic to decode the rising and trailing edges of the 38 kilobaud ASCII signal received by the testboard from the DOM.

Data was taken on digital comparator threshold values of +/- 64, 48, 32, 24, 16 and 10

A field programmable gate array on the testboard and one in the DOM constitute a basket full of glue logic used for data handling and communications.  The applications programmer interface for the DOM is under construction.  The API for the testboard contains elements which will find their way into the DOM Hub of IceCube, if it ever gets built.
