Main Board Repair History Archive
First production year:
The production strategy evolved as production increased. In
the first production run, the loading vendor produced boards which were
downloaded with code, run through an initial suite of room-temperature
STF tests, then run through accelerated environmental testing, before a
two day burn-in and integration testing in our lab.
There was fall-out at every stage. Serial numbers less than 1000

Second Production year:
The second production run of 500 boards included provisions for
downloading code, and initial STF testing at the loading vendor, with
accelerated environmental testing, burn-in, and integration testing
handled by our crew. Again, there was fall-out at
every stage. Serial numbers between 1000 and 2000
The third production run was much like the second, except that the
vendor also took over accelerated environmental testing, burn-in.
Our crew did integrration testing. As usual, there was fall-out at
every stage. Serial numbers between 2000 and 3000

Fall-out
A few boards from each production run were either DOA,
or suffered a severe failure, such that it is still unavailable
for use either as a software development board, or production
board. The symptoms are varied. See list.
